1. First we need to login to Gmail itself to access the needed settings. Please enter your name and password by following the link below to gmails official login page.
2. Once complete please navigate to gmail itself via the toolbar in the right hand corner, and select gmail as shown in the screenshots below.
3. Once in gmail we will need to select the "See all settings" option. This can be found similarly to where we selected gmail but instead we will now be selecting the gear wheel.
4. After this we select the "See all settings" option from the menu.

5. In the setting menu we can now select the Forwarding and POP/IMAP option on the menu.
6. Next, navigate to the IMAP access section of the menu and select Enable IMAP.
7. We have now successfully allowed IMAP access to the gmail account. This means that your gmail can now be setup in your application of choice such as outlook etc. This setup forms a critcial part of the mailbox setup as without this access application will not gain access correctly and may error out.
