How to Change Keyboard Layout in Windows 11: A Step-by-Step Guide

To change your Keyboard layout in Windows 11 do the following:

  1. Click the Windows button in the bottom left corner of the screen to open the Start menu.
  2. Click the gear icon to open the Settings app.
  3. In the Settings app, click "Devices."
  4. In the Devices section, click "Typing."
  5. Under the "Keyboards" section, click "Add a keyboard."
  6. Select the desired keyboard layout from the list and click "Add."
  7. The newly added keyboard layout will now appear in the list of available keyboards.
  8. To switch between keyboard layouts, click the language abbreviation in the taskbar and select the desired layout from the list.
  9. You can also use keyboard shortcuts to switch between layouts. The default keyboard shortcut is Windows Key + Spacebar.
  10. To remove a keyboard layout, go back to the "Keyboards" section in the Settings app and click the keyboard layout you want to remove. Then click "Remove."
